A monumental day for Conquest as our first ever scholar and first ever professional signing has taken the huge leap to Championship level football.
Toby Sibbick will be joining Barnsley Football Club from AFC Wimbledon for an undisclosed fee today on a four year contract. This is the result of years of hard work behind the scenes from Toby and the people who have supported him on a daily basis. Special thanks should go to Conor Hayden, Harry Hayden & Abu Rayhan who demonstrated unwavering faith and support in his journey.
Toby himself demonstrates a modern day success story, turned down by 3 professional academies before joining Conquest and playing Sunday park football for two years then receiving a 2 year scholarship at Wimbledon, a 2 year pro followed by a 3 year pro and now being sold to a Championship club as part of a 4 year contract.
Within 5 years he has transformed his life and demonstrated what is possible with the correct attitude, work ethic and support system. He is a role model for any young player looking to enter the game and demonstrates the best character qualities you could hope to have.
Congratulations Toby, we are sure this is the first of many professional contracts and look forward to watching you at the very top of the game in the years to comes.
